An accomplished corporate executive, entrepreneur, and company advisor with a background in the broadcast and technology industries, Natalie Buford-Young is a Senior Business Development Executive with Deloitte’s Emerging Growth Company Practice for the Southeast US and Austin. She is an active leader in the entrepreneur community and serves as Executive Director for Deloitte’s Tech Venture Center of Greater Washington which provides programs and networking opportunities for entrepreneurs, investors, and other services providers. Recently named to the list of Power Women in Tech by Bisnow, she is a tireless advocate for the tech scenes in the markets she serves including, DC, Carolinas, Atlanta and Austin. Natalie is a highly active board member of The Vinetta Project which provides uplift for women business founders to the investor community.
Mr. Gordon joined Catalyst in 2016 and focuses on sourcing, evaluating, and structuring new investment opportunities and managing the firm’s existing portfolio companies. Prior to joining Catalyst, he was a Senior Analyst on the Private Equity team at the Wolfson Group, a New York-based single family office, where he focused on investing in private equity funds, co-investments, and direct investments.
Bobby is a Partner at Revolution Ventures and focuses on identifying, investing in, and helping to build innovative and impactful early-stage companies. Bobby serves on the boards or has served on the boards of Booker, HelloWallet (acquired by Morningstar), Homesnap, MemberSuite, and OrderUp (acquired by Groupon). Prior to joining Revolution Ventures, Bobby was an Associate with Grotech Ventures, where he was active in sourcing and executing investments in software, internet, and digital media sectors.
Don Rainey is a venture capitalist with a long and active relationship in the academic arena as both a professor and mentor. He works with the state of Virginia, the federal government and others to assist in technology transfer from public and academic institutions to the commercial sector. Don’s area of investment expertise centers around Internet and social media-related startups. He is a prolific blogger and frequent contributor to various business and VC trade publications including BusinessInsider and VentureBeat. Don has also appeared regularly on Fox Business Channel, offering his views on the industry at large as well as first-hand experience on starting and running a company.
Mr. Rich is responsible for the general management and investment policy of Catalyst Investors. He monitors all of the firm’s investment opportunities and provides counsel for all portfolio companies. A veteran investor, he has more than 20 years of experience in the business services, technology and wireless sectors. Mr. Rich has served on numerous boards at Catalyst and predecessor funds and is currently on the board of directors of the National Venture Capital Association.
Beginning in 2004, Tom has established and grown CIT GAP Funds, a family of seed-stage venture funds focused on making equity investments in the Commonwealth of Virginia’s most promising tech and life science companies. In forming GAP Fund I, Weithman brought together initial investment capital, developed and implemented all deal sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio management processes, and recruited all members of the investment team and GAP Fund board.
Executive Chairman Scot Wingo sets the strategic direction for the company, and works closely with the management team to align product direction with market trends. He is an industry thought leader, contributing regularly to several ChannelAdvisor blogs and speaking often at industry events. Scot received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Computer Engineering degree from North Carolina State University.
